The terms governing your use of our website and the purchase of antiques and collectables from Antique Collection Ltd.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "your", "the buyer" or "the customer") and Antique Collection Ltd ("we", "us", "our" or "the company"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13759284, with its registered address at 146 Manor Way, Borehamwood, England, WD6 1QX. Please read these Terms carefully before using our website or making a purchase. By accessing or using this website, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms in full.
By accessing, browsing or using this website in any manner, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not use this website.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use this website and to make purchases. By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts under the laws of England and Wales.
If you are purchasing on behalf of a business, organisation or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. In such cases, "you" and "your" refer to both you as an individual and the entity on whose behalf you act.
We may update these Terms from time to time, as outlined in Section 17 below. Your continued use of the website following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
Antique Collection Ltd operates an antiques and collectables gallery based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, serving customers throughout the United Kingdom and, by arrangement, internationally. Our website provides an online platform through which customers may:
Our services are primarily informational and commercial in nature. We sell antique, vintage and collectable items that are, by their nature, pre-owned and often one-of-a-kind. We do not provide financial advice, investment counsel or formal valuations through this website. Any informal opinion of value we offer is just that and should not be relied upon for insurance, probate or investment purposes without independent professional confirmation.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time without prior notice, including removing items from our catalogue or adjusting gallery opening hours.
When using this website, you agree to the following obligations and restrictions:
Any breach of these obligations may result in the immediate termination of your access to this website and any pending transactions, without liability on our part.
All items listed on this website are antique, vintage or collectable and are sold as seen, unless explicitly stated otherwise. We strive to describe each item as accurately and completely as possible, including its age, dimensions, materials, condition and provenance. However, given the nature of antiques:
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT at the prevailing rate where applicable. Our VAT registration number is GB 319 7462 85. Delivery charges, where applicable, are quoted separately at the point of enquiry or checkout and vary depending on the size, weight and destination of the item.
We reserve the right to amend prices at any time without prior notice. However, if you have already placed an order and we have confirmed it, we shall honour the price quoted at the time of your order confirmation, except in cases of obvious pricing error. In the event of a pricing error, we shall notify you promptly and offer you the option to proceed at the corrected price or cancel your order for a full refund.
Many of our items are unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. Listing an item on the website does not guarantee its availability. Items are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw any item from sale at any time.
When you submit an order or enquiry through this website, it constitutes an offer to purchase the item(s) described. A binding contract is formed only when we send you a written order confirmation by email. We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion, including where an item has already been sold, where we are unable to verify your identity or payment details, or where we suspect fraudulent activity.
We accept the following payment methods:
All payments must be received in full (or the first instalment agreed under a payment plan) before we dispatch any item. Ownership of the item passes to you only upon receipt of full payment. Until that point, we retain title to the goods.
If payment is not received within seven calendar days of order confirmation (unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing), we reserve the right to cancel the order and relist the item for sale without further notice.
We offer delivery throughout the United Kingdom via specialist fine art and antique carriers. International shipping is available by arrangement and will be quoted on a case-by-case basis.
Delivery timescales depend on the size and nature of the item, the delivery address and the availability of our specialist carriers. Typical delivery times within England and Wales are 5 to 10 working days from the date of payment clearance. Deliveries to Scotland, Northern Ireland and remote areas may take longer. We shall provide you with an estimated delivery date at the point of order confirmation.
While we make every reasonable effort to meet estimated delivery dates, these are indicative only and not guaranteed. We shall not be liable for any delay in delivery caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including adverse weather, carrier delays, industrial action or force majeure events.
All items are fully insured during transit at their full sale value at no additional cost to you. Our insurance covers loss or damage during shipping. In the event that an item arrives damaged, you must notify us in writing within 48 hours of delivery, including photographs of the damage and the packaging. We shall then arrange for the item to be collected and, at our discretion, repaired, replaced or refunded.
For larger furniture items, we offer a white-glove delivery service (available at additional cost), which includes delivery to a room of your choice, unpacking and removal of all packaging materials. This service must be requested at the point of order.
Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery. You are responsible for inspecting items promptly upon receipt and reporting any issues within the timeframe specified above.
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Our returns policy is as follows:
For items that are not classified as unique or one-of-a-kind (for example, items of which we hold multiple examples), we offer a 30-day returns policy from the date of delivery. To initiate a return, you must contact us within 30 days of receiving the item. The item must be returned in the same condition as received, in its original packaging or packaging of equivalent standard. Return shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility unless the item was misdescribed.
Unique and one-of-a-kind antiques are sold as seen. Due to their irreplaceable nature, we do not generally accept returns on these items unless the item materially differs from the description provided at the point of sale. If you believe an item has been misdescribed, please contact us within 14 days of delivery with full details and supporting evidence. We shall review each case on its individual merits and, if we agree that the item was misdescribed, offer a full refund including return shipping costs.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer protection legislation. If goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, you are entitled to the remedies available under the Act, including the right to a refund, repair or replacement as appropriate.
Approved refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned item (or, where applicable, receiving evidence of posting). Refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase. We shall notify you by email once a refund has been processed. Please allow up to five working days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your bank or card provider.

If we are unable to resolve a dispute informally within 30 days, either party may refer the matter to mediation through a mutually agreed mediator. The costs of mediation shall be shared equally unless the mediator directs otherwise.
If mediation does not resolve the dispute, either party may commence legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales as specified in Section 14 above. Nothing in this dispute resolution process prevents you from exercising your statutory rights or seeking injunctive relief at any time.
