Every item we stock undergoes a rigorous authentication process. We examine construction methods, materials, tool marks and finishes consistent with the stated period. Where relevant, we verify hallmarks, maker's marks and signatures against reference databases. For higher-value pieces, we commission independent expert opinions or scientific analysis such as dendrochronology for timber and assaying for precious metals. We always provide a detailed condition report with purchase.

We take enormous care with shipping. Smaller items such as porcelain, jewellery and silverware are double-boxed with acid-free tissue, bubble wrap and custom foam inserts. Larger furniture pieces are wrapped in quilted blankets and placed in bespoke wooden crates built to the exact dimensions. We use specialist fine art and antique carriers who are fully insured. Every shipment includes insurance to the full sale value at no additional cost to you.

We offer a 30-day returns policy on non-unique items. Unique or one-of-a-kind antiques are sold as seen; however, if an item materially differs from its description, we will gladly accept a return and issue a full refund. Items must be returned in the same condition as received, using the same level of professional packing. Return shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility unless the item was misdescribed.

Yes, we offer informal valuations at no charge for items within our areas of expertise. Simply send clear photographs along with any known history to our email address and we will respond with our assessment. For formal insurance or probate valuations, we work with RICS-accredited valuers and can arrange this service for a modest fee. Please note we cannot guarantee to purchase every item submitted for valuation.

We work with a network of specialist conservators covering furniture, silverware, ceramics, clocks and paintings. If a piece you purchase (or already own) requires restoration, we can arrange a professional assessment and quotation. Our philosophy favours conservation over heavy restoration, preserving the patina and character that make antiques special whilst ensuring structural integrity and longevity.

We accept bank transfer (BACS), Visa, Mastercard and PayPal. For items over £2,000, bank transfer is preferred. We can also arrange payment plans for purchases exceeding £1,500, typically spread over two to three instalments by prior agreement. All payments are processed securely and we issue a full receipt with every transaction.

Yes, we regularly purchase from private sellers, estate executors and other dealers. If you have antique furniture, silver, porcelain, jewellery, clocks or paintings you wish to sell, please contact us with photographs and any provenance information.
